
Joseph J. Culin – 6th Degree Martial Arts Hall of Fame Inductee Master Instructor
Joseph J. Culin is the founder and CEO of Culin Karate Center Ltd., Cedar Park, one of the most successful Martial Arts Personal Development Academies in America. This Academy helps students in the areas of physical development, discipline, confidence, courtesy as well as self-defense. He holds Black Belts in several Martial Arts styles, and is currently a 6th Degree Master Instructor in the Korean art of Tae Kwon Do.
Joseph began his Academy following a very successful 20year career at IBM, where he was involved in the development of security software used in the banking industry as well as in hospitals.
In 1996, he tested for his Black Belt in the art of Jhoon Rhee Tae Kwon Do, by Grand Master Jhoon Rhee himself. Master Rhee was Bruce Lee’s friend and Instructor; took Muhammad Ali to the Black Belt; as well as testing Tony Robbins and members of Congress to the Black Belt level. This relationship and mentorship by Grand Master Rhee has had a great and lasting effect on Mr. Culin.
In 2007, Joseph was inducted by his peers into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame, for Outstanding Instructor of the Year in all 50 states. He is a Certified Instructor by the (ACMA) American Council of Martial Arts and by the Cooper Institute of Dallas Tx.
In 2002, he was named to Team America, a United States International Martial Arts Competition Team, to compete for the Gold Medal at the World Cup event in Honolulu Hawaii.
Mr. Culin is a National Best Selling Author with his book “The Winning Way”.
He is a graduate of St. Edwards University, in Austin Tx., where he graduated in 1992 with two degrees under full Scholarship.
He is also an accomplished Speaker, Mentor, Author and Business consultant, as seen on Fox News. He has worked with and mentored groups such as IBM, Intel, and the Texas National Bankers Association.
He resides in Volente, Tx with his wife Julie and their two children.

Grand Master Rhee and Ali were very good friends. Master Rhee even trained Ali for one of his fights, and taught him the "Jhoon Rhee Accu-Punch", which Ali used to flatten his opponent; giving Master Rhee full credit for teaching him such an effective technique!
